Luck may have run out

In the past week, Dave got sick (vomiting) twice. The first time we blamed it on a questionable Lean Cuisine. The second time, a few days later, may have been McDonalds. Afterward, he feels better and continues on with his day. Not stereotypical flu behavior.

This morning David woke up with a stomach ache. I knew what was coming, but I prayed I was wrong. A little while later he had diarrhea. A few minutes ago he threw up the water and Tylenol I had given him at 6am.

It's official. The flu has hit. Now I will pray that it won't sweep through the house as is its common practice.

Dave gets home tonight from Ohio.

Triggers

I've had a lot of "triggers" lately. I'm not sure if I am just overly emotional the past few months or what the deal is.

1. Headboard at the wall nearest the road= hysterical crying
2. possible Dental fatalities=hysterical crying
2. Conversations about the possibility of having a waterbed again=hysterical crying+weapy call to Leah
3. Movies about accidents & amnesia= constant flow of tears

It's been 4 years. So, why is it still too soon? Maybe God is still trying to teach me to trust Him. Reminding me that it all could have been so much worse, and I need to be praising and thanking Him instead of getting worked up about something I can't remember.

Logical me knows that my headboard being at the roadside wall does not increase the chances of a car driving through my bedroom. Neither does owning a waterbed. But thank goodness that only lasted for one night and I have a real bed again while the offensive furnishing is wadded up in the corner awaiting a placement on Craigslist.

I haven't lost any teeth yet. And if I do? Well, I guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

This movie that tugged on my emotions? The Vow. How self centered is that? My situation was nothing like that. I did not forget a whole chunk of my life along with the people in it. I forgot a couple days. That happens to irresponsible college kids almost every weekend.

Like I said, these triggers should remind me to to praise and thank God that that situation was orchestrated perfectly. It could have been worse in so many ways. PRAISE GOD that it wasn't! PRAISE GOD for protecting my family! And PRAISE GOD for shielding me from the awful memories of terror and pain that they would inevitably cause. PRAISE GOD! Thank you, Lord!

David: it's the king of come!
Noah: no, I the king of come!
David; the king of come lives right here.
Noah: king of come!
Me: boys, it's "kingdom come" not "king of come"

Hahaha!!

Lately

One icy morning, I slid my car right into the side of a ladies van. She was ridiculously nice about it. I scuffed her paint, so it wasn't too bad on her end. I broke my headlight, scuffed my bumper, and pushed the driver's side everything back a little ways. But of course, Dave fixed everything. It is for sale after all. :/. Oops. So someone is suppose to look at it tonight. Lets hope he doesn't notice that I touched up the paint with "Ruby Ruby" nail polish.... Yeah.

The boys are still doing good in school and still loving it.

Thought Dave had the flu, but thankfully, it was just the lean cuisine I sent to work with him. Wife of the year. Poor Dave.

We have changed the lighting in the kitchen. Well, he's actually still in the process. He ran into some randomly placed studs that threw everything off a bit, but it won't be too noticeable after everything is repaired.

Noah hates all nick names that I have bestowed upon him. I am only allowed to call him "Noah." I still sneak some nick names in there though. I have to. :)

Dave is going out of town on Sunday and will be back Tuesday night as long as everything goes as planned.
