good day

daddy is out of town for a business trip.  in New Orleans.  I know.
so anyway, the kids and i have had a really fun day--with minimal teeth-clenching on my part.  We went to the park with my sister and her kids this morning.  Kids had a blast.  played at the playground, went for a walk through the "woods"--it's a paved trail, not a genuine forest...  stopped by the stream and threw in rocks for-um-ever.  i think that may have been the kids favorite part.  and every time one of the little kids threw a rock, they looked like they were on the verge of hurling themselves in as well.  but they're all fine and no one needed to be rescued.
after nap, my boys played outside until dinner.  after dinner we colored the driveway all up with chalk.  noah wanted to color daddy's tires, but i thought that may not be appreciated.  There were some tears when Noah realized that daddy was not coming home tonight.  lots of snot and "babets" (blankets) involved.
but, anyway, good day.  we had fun.

soccer

so my husband and i were kicking the soccer ball around in the backyard while the kids were running around playing.  we did not have the best aim yesterday.  i kicked the ball and hit my poor 3 yr old in the chest!  poor david!  that is not where i was aiming!  Dave kicked the ball and hit me in the face...  not full on but it grazed the side of my face and continued over top of the house.  that hurt.

apparently the adults should not be allowed to play.

now i am the sick one.  it was bound to happen.  just a matter of time.

dr

David is fine and healthy.  Noah has an eye infection that he has rubbed into the other eye as well.  so a drop in each eye every 4 hrs.  still has a cough in the morning and today at nap time.  less crabby today though, so that is an improvement.  did not need to get up at 4 AM with him this morning.  they slept until 6:30.  not as good as 7, but i will take it!

SICK

It feels like my boys have been sick forever!  it all started off with Noah having a cough every night for a week.  no fever our other symptoms.  took him to the dr when the cough got worse.  he had an ear infection.  he has just finished his antibiotics a few days ago.  during that time, davids eyes started oozing goo.  planned on taking him to the dr the next day, but then his eyes were fine. the best 2-3 days his eyes would "goo" a tiny bit off and on.  They were never red, and were not bugging him.  No fever.  Yesterday morning Noah woke up with a croupy sounding cough which quickly went away as the day progressed.  then his right eye freaked out.  turned all red and oozed pus.  he was tired and cranky for the rest of the day.  no fever.  this morning he woke up with a cough again but it did not sound as bad, but it was uncontrollable.  his eye is not oozing but is still a little red.

i am making a dr appt today.  hopefully he will be able to figure out what is wrong.  with their symptoms coming and going and being so erratic, i am wondering if it is allergies.  we'll see what the dr says.
