humming bird

David:  Mom, what's a humming bird?
Me:  It's a tiny bird with a long skinny beak, and he flaps his wings so fast that you can hardly see them, and they make a humming sound.
David:  Oh.  And you can shoot them?

ugh!  that's the first thing he thinks of???  too much hunting talk in this house.  Who raised this child?!
