Porch Swing

I've been asking for a porch swing for some time now.  A cute little white one popped up on Craig's List for $25.  Score!  Unfortunately, this $25 item led to the destruction of our porch ceiling.  

Dave needed to see what was under the siding cover that stretched the length of the porch ceiling.  Underneath he found a whole lot of rotten boards.  No way would those boards be able to support a swing--unless no one but baby squirrels sat in it ever.  And so, the rotten boards were cut/pulled down, revealing....  rotten beams.  And so,  those are being cut out and replaced as well.  

He and Dad (Dave's dad) will have it done today, I am sure, but it sure is frustrating when $25 turns into a bit more...
