My birthday was the 22nd. The boys and I were all sick, so nothing really happened. My parents stopped over and brought me 3 big pots of flowers. Perennials and annuals, yay! I've gotten very into the IDEA of flowers and gardening lately. Not quite sure that these grand ideas will actually be executed.... (flowers are ridiculously expensive, FYI.) Anyway, so they came over and hung out with me for a while.

Dave found a shop nearby full of stuff he knew I would love, so I went and got a coffee table. It is technically from him, but I got to pick it out. The next night, which was suppose to be our 'date night' for my birthday, didn't really happen. We ordered carry-out and watched a movie (In Time). We did not want a sitter watching our sick kids--that's our job.
Leah got me a subscription to Rolling Stone. Awesome! It's the gift that keeps on giving! love it!
yup, hung those eggs on sticks and pronounced it 'Easter Tree.' |
Our Anniversary was the 30th. FIVE YEARS. It seems so hard to believe that it has been that long already. My mom told me more than once that when you have kids your life goes into "warp speed." She said literally picture that opening scene from Star trek when the Enterprise is flying along all nice and calm and then... takes off and disappears. I completely understand what she is talking about now. 5 years flew by. Here's to the next 50! Dave left for New York yesterday morning. I actually got all teary. I have become a sap. But I think that's a good thing. It's good that I am teary when he leaves for a week instead of thinking, "ugh! finally!" (I have never actually thought that--it was just an example) Those 5 years have not killed us :) we are, without a doubt, much closer now than ever before.
The previous evening I bought him a couple dress shirts from Kohl's for an anniversary gift. One of them did not fit right, so we took it back. I saw the CUTEST tankini, and I was in love--until i tried it on. Then I was depressed and mopey and disgusted. I was really hoping that Jillian's "Shred" was having some affect even if I could not actually see it yet.... It was confirmed--no results yet. I am still mourning the loss of my decent bikini body. David damaged it. Noah killed it. Chocolate keeps it from being resuscitated. So I got sun glasses and socks.
We saw The Hunger Games on Saturday. LOVED it. I said it's for our anniversary. He said it was for my birthday.
FINALLY got to see Kylee yesterday! she is soooo stinkin cute!! I love all of her wispy 'Peter Pan' (Leah's words--perfect description) hair. She does little baby grins which are so cute. She is still very teeny, so I did not miss all of the 'teeny stage,' despite what the pictures show. She looks much bigger in the pictures. And she pooped all over herself yesterday. :) onesie, socks, blanket--everything. she was very annoyed that she was naked for one minute.
All of the older babies (3yr -- 9yr) decorated cookies. There wasn't a ton of actual decorating, but they tried. There was a lot of frosting licking. I average that about 50% of the frosting that made it onto the cookies was actually spit.
At church on Sunday, a couple brought their brand new, tiny baby boy to Sunday school with them. Dave saw him and said: "____'s baby is adorable. I totally understand 'baby fever.'"
